I tried to login last night and my entire account is disabled. I get this error:

Your account has been blocked due to unacceptable behaviour. You won't be able to log in again until the block expires. The first few times your account is blocked, you will be unable to log in for a few hours. Continued offenses will result in longer and longer blocks. (Err=45)

I have no idea what they are talking about. Someone has suggested it is because of my character's name. I really don't know as I cannot login and see and they provide no reason beyond the vague "unacceptable behaviour" phrase.

So my question is, for those of you that have had your character suspended due to an inappropriate name, have you experienced this total account lockout? If you have, how long has it lasted? I read the message above and assumed I would be out for 3-4 hours, as according to the dictionary, few means:

Amounting to or consisting of a small number: one of my few bad habits.
Being more than one but indefinitely small in number: bowled a few strings.

It has been over 10 hours and my account is still locked

I've "asked a question" on the AN support site, but thus far I don't have any sort of explanation.

The thing that gets me the most is that they have locked my account with no explanation, no recourse, no way to protest, and no real indication of how long the lock will last. AFAIK, the only thing they could possibly think I did wrong was name my character inappropriately. But even then, it was not particularly bad. I've not cheated or harassed or in any other way acted inappropriately to any other player in the game and in fact I usually try to help others needing help with quests, etc.

It is quite frustrating.

Inappropriate character name is enough to get temporarily suspended, yes. This isn't a game only for adults. It doesn't even have blood in it.

I can understand if you're frustrated after being suspended for over 10 hours, and hopefully you'll get back soon, this time with better character names. I doubt ArenaNet can have a complaint system for these things as it would eat up so much resources for them. Most people getting suspended would think it's done unfairly, since that's rarely their intention when playing / naming characters in a certain way. It's more likely they just didn't read the Terms of Use. And handling all these cases can't exactly be something they look forward to. We'll just have to accept we're playing in their game on their terms. Personally, I think if your name had anything to do with a derogatory name for women, it was a fairly obvious case of an offensive name.
